Review Process

JLLE maintains a rigorous double-blind peer review system to ensure the highest scholarly standards.

Step 1 – Editorial Screening

All submissions are screened by the Editorial Board for:

  • Relevance to the journal’s scope

  • Originality and significance

  • Adherence to submission guidelines

  • Language quality

Manuscripts failing to meet basic requirements may be desk-rejected.

Step 2 – Peer Review

  • Eligible manuscripts are sent to two independent expert reviewers.

  • Both the author(s) and reviewers remain anonymous.

  • Reviewers evaluate originality, methodological rigor, theoretical contribution, clarity, and relevance.

Step 3 – Editorial Decision

Based on reviewers’ recommendations, the editor may decide:

  • Accept without revision

  • Minor revisions required

  • Major revisions required

  • Reject

Step 4 – Revision and Resubmission

  • Authors must respond to reviewer feedback and provide a response letter detailing changes.

  • Revised manuscripts may undergo a second round of review if necessary.

Timeline

  • Initial editorial screening: 1–2 weeks
